What Can You Expect at the Cobourg Waterfront Festival!

Do you plan on going to the Cobourg Waterfront Festival June 30 – July 2. Come down to Victoria Park and Rotary Harbourfront Park to join us as we celebrate the start of summer with the annual Cobourg Waterfront Festival. Enjoy a weekend of amazing musical performances, food trucks, a children’s fun zone, Canada Day celebrations and more!
On Thursday, June 29, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., the Lions Club of Cobourg will host a Strawberry Social in Victoria Park’s Big Tent to kick off the weekend. Meatballs, potato salad, macaroni salad, cold meats, cake with strawberries and whipped cream on top, coffee, or tea are all on the menu. Tickets are $25 at the door and $20 in advance. All proceeds from this event will go towards supporting Northumberland United Way. The Strawberry Social then leads into our Waterfront Festival which will begin shortly after.

Thursday (Pre-Festival Entertainment)
On Thursday, June 29, at 7:00pm. From 7pm – 10pm you can expect live music from Madman’s Window. Madman’s Window is a vibrant, one-of-a-kind blend of folk tunes from Ireland, Scotland, and Canada’s East Coast. Madman’s Window has been entertaining audiences of all ages and walks of life across Ontario with their energetic live shows. You can also expect a Refreshment Tent and enjoy the live music and relax in beautiful Victoria Park!
Friday
Start Friday off right and get a taste of Northumberland County with fresh, local strawberries and real Maple Syrup served with fluffy pancakes and barbequed sausages! You can get breakfast in Victoria Park every morning during the festival. Every busy day should start with a good breakfast, especially when the day is jam-packed with the many fun-filled activities of the Cobourg Waterfront Festival.
Come tame the tummy as volunteers from the local business community, with assistance from the Northumberland Central Chamber of Commerce, don chef hats and aprons and serve Cobourg-style breakfast near the bandshell. Adult breakfast costs $10, children 10 and under $5, and you can save $1 if you eat before 8:30 a.m.
Visit the Rotary HarbourArts on the Esplanade. Don’t miss your shopping, snacking, and chances to discover your new favourite things along the beautiful Coburg harbour.
There will also be 50/50 tickets sold on Friday around Victoria Park from 10:00am to 12:00pm. In the afternoon there will be a wonderful line-up of live musicians performing in the Bandshell presented by the Rotary Club of Cobourg. Performers include Lorn Brown, Evey, School House, Jeff Biggar and The Buzz.
Saturday
Saturday, open from 8am-1pm, you can start off your morning by going to the Cobourg Farmer’s Market at Rotary Harbourfront Park on Albert Street and purchasing local goods from one of the oldest farmer’s markets in Ontario. Afterwards the Canada Day Parade will begin at 10am. If you want to have your float in the parade, you can register to participate in the parade here. Then join the Town Council, the Town Crier and York Bell-Smith for the opening ceremonies in Victoria Park at 12:00pm. Followed by entertainment all day long!
You can then make your way to the various vendors in our food courts that will be open all weekend long including Fabulicious Funnel Cakes, Friendly Greeks, Kilties Mini Donuts, Matt’s Dairy and Summertime Lemonade! The Canada Day Entertainment at the Bandshell begins at 1pm and continues until 9:30pm.
Fireworks will then be over the harbor at 10pm sharp.
Sunday
Sunday you can try out some of the amusement rides that will be around all weekend! The carnival will be in Victoria Park, overlooking Lake Ontario and beautiful Victoria Beach. Ride one of the thrilling adult rides, put your young ones on one of the many children’s rides, or try your luck at one of the numerous games.
The carnival features rides and games for all ages, and of course popcorn, taffy apples and candy floss. Then you can visit the Cobourg Pier Food Court at the Rotary Bistro for craft beers from Brock Street Brewing Company, local ciders, coolers, and wines. The Bandshell and the Esplanade will also be filled with performances all weekend long. Sunday you can see performances from Peter & Anna followed by Meteor Heist, Cale Crowe, Madman’s Window, and finishing the night off, Eddy & The Stingrays.
