Cycling in Cobourg

Cobourg Bike Rentals

Experience Cobourg's bike rental program is the perfect way to explore Cobourg without traffic and parking causing roadblocks during your trip. Rent a bike from the Cobourg Marina and explore the waterfront, weave through quiet side streets, or tackle a trail or two.

Bike rentals come with a helmet, bike lock, and maps to equip you for your two-wheeled adventure through town.

The bike rental program runs from June to October. In the summer months you can explore the beach, boardwalk, or scenic routes through the Northumberland countryside. As the weather starts to cool down take a spin through Cobourg and see the beautiful fall foliage as you cycle through our parks and trails.

All customers are required to complete a Bike Rental Agreement/Waiver prior to bike rental. All rental fees must be paid prior to rental, rental fees (not including the $250 deposit) are non refundable.

All bicycles must be returned to the rental location at the hour given by the Experience Ambassador at the time of rental. If they are not returned by this time, the renter will not be issued their deposit.

Bikes must be returned in clean, undamaged condition to avoid any additional charges for repair, maintenance or replacement. Bikes returned with a significant amount of damage will not be eligible for their deposit to be returned. Damages include severe body damage, wheel barring damage, etc. Regular wear and tear (paint chip/ flat tire) is tolerated. It is the responsibility of the customer to check the bike at the pick-up location for any damages or defects prior to taking the bike out of the rental place. Damaged parts or components will be repaired/replaced at the Corporation of the Town of Cobourg’s discretion and costumers must agree to pay regular rates and retail prices for components that must be replaced due to their misuse or negligence.

Helmets are offered and recommend as part of the rental contract. It is mandatory for those below the age of 18 years to wear a helmet as per Provincial Legislation. Customers who decline to rent and wear helmets have done so at their own risk.
