People Behind Experience Cobourg
Jackie
Manager of Culture, Events, and Tourism & Waterfront
Town of Cobourg
I grew up in Northumberland County, and after 25 years in Ottawa, I felt the call to return to the charm of small-town living. Now, as the Manager of Culture, Events, and Tourism, and of the beautiful waterfront here in Cobourg, I’m proud to contribute to the growth and sustainability of our community for both residents and visitors. My role focuses on creating a welcoming, vibrant environment that highlights Cobourg’s unique cultural and natural assets.
Collaboration is at the heart of everything I do—working with local businesses, community groups, and fellow team members to create unforgettable experiences. Outside of work, I’m dedicated to growing my family and deepening our community ties. This is home, and I’m excited to be part of its continued growth, ensuring it remains a destination people love to visit and a place we’re all proud to call home.
Kelly
Tourism and Events Coordinator
Town of Cobourg
As a Tourism and Events Coordinator for the Town of Cobourg, I’m passionate about showcasing everything that makes this community special. For the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of promoting Cobourg through dynamic campaigns and memorable events that bring people together and highlight the best of what we have to offer.
My role allows me to combine strategy and creativity—whether it’s building tourism initiatives, collaborating with local businesses, or bringing vibrant events to life on our waterfront. Every project is an opportunity to spotlight Cobourg’s charm and help visitors discover their own connection to this incredible town.
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me working out at the gym, shopping local, sipping my way through Cobourg’s coffee spots, or playing with my dog. I genuinely love connecting with people and sharing the energy that makes Cobourg such a vibrant and welcoming place to live, visit, and explore.
Jenny
Tourism and Events Coordinator
Town of Cobourg
I spent over 20 years in radio as an announcer, reporter, and news anchor, followed by time in the non-profit world before stepping into this role that brings together everything I love—community, connection, and Cobourg. Though I didn’t grow up here, I’ve spent most of my life in town, and now my husband Jay, our son Avery, and our three fur babies call it home.
I’m a 10-year breast cancer survivor, after losing my mom to the disease when I was just eight. That journey fills me with gratitude, and I continue to give back through fundraising and donating my hair (four times, the last one not exactly by choice...wink!). I love board game nights, paddle boarding, snowshoeing, and sharing my lifelong love of baseball with my kiddo. And yes, between the Marina view, amazing students, and coworkers, I truly believe Cobourg is magic. I love seeing people fall in love with Cobourg—just like I did.
