Library Fun, including a Storybook Snowmen Scavenger Hunt!

Kick off the new year with creative fun, family programs, and something for every age at your local library branches! The Cobourg Public Library is hosting a Family Literacy Day Reading Challenge from January 2–27—pick up a reading log and read to win a literary prize pack.

Families can enjoy Storytimes, the Storybook Snowmen Scavenger Hunt (until Jan 4), and a special P.A. Day program: Snow Much Fun! on Friday, January 30. Teens can take advantage of Exam Cram Study Week, while adults can join Monday Movies, Boomers 55+, Book Clubs, Tech Buddies, Chess Club, and Adult Craft Night.

New Years Levee

Celebrate the New Year at Victoria Hall Concert Hall with the New Year's Levee 2 - 4 pm on Saturday, January 3! Enjoy family-friendly activities, live music, tasty appetizers and desserts, and a special speech from the Mayor.

Try Curling: Littlerock's & Jr's at the West Northumberland Curling Club

Kids and teens can try curling at the West Northumberland Curling Club (WNCC) with Littlerocks and Jr’s! Sessions run Sundays from 12–2 PM, with upcoming dates on January 4, 11, 18, 25 (and February 1 and 8). Registration is open - sign up and introduce your young athletes to the fun and excitement of curling.

The Mind Unlocked Gala: Comedy Hypnotist Robert Maxwell

Experience an unforgettable night at the Victoria Hall Concert Hall of inspiration, entertainment, and community spirit as Heal & Unite launches its first fundraising gala on January 10, 2026. This elegant evening brings together local leaders, supporters, and businesses to champion mental health, inclusion, and youth initiatives across the region. The highlight of the night is a high-energy, laugh-filled performance by Corporate Comedy Hypnotist Robert Maxwell, whose internationally acclaimed show promises jaw-dropping moments and nonstop fun.

Experience Cobourg is looking for your photos and videos that capture the heart of our town through Storytelling through People. We’re seeking authentic moments of locals and visitors enjoying Cobourg—whether relaxing on the beach, exploring nature, attending events, or simply soaking in the charm of daily life. Your submissions may be featured in future marketing materials, and every entry has a chance to win great local prizes. Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour

The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour celebrates its 50th anniversary with a stop at the Victoria Hall Concert Hall on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. From more than 580 submissions, only 33 films were selected to tour—tonight’s showcase features up to ten of these extraordinary adventure and mountain stories. Expect breathtaking landscapes, powerful environmental themes, and edge-of-your-seat action as the 2025/2026 World Tour delivers an inspiring, high-energy look into the world of exploration and extreme sport.

Robbie Burns Night & Scotch Tasting

Enjoy an unforgettable evening of food, drink, and entertainment at the Annual Rotary Club of Northumberland Sunrise Robbie Burns Night and Scotch Tasting, held at Dalewood Golf Club on January 24 at 6 p.m. Celebrate Scottish tradition while sampling fine scotch and savoring a delicious meal in great company. This festive night is proudly hosted by the Rotary Club of Northumberland Sunrise.

 

Public Skating

Enjoy a full month of January skating in Cobourg with options for every age and skill level! Choose from Adult Skate, Public Skate, Stick & Puck, and Shinny programs at the Cobourg Community Centre (CCC), with schedules available under each tab online. Plus, don’t forget to visit the outdoor rink at Rotary Harbourfront Park for even more winter fun. Lace up, glide across the ice, and make winter memories together!

 

Drag Show Fundraiser

Northumberland Film Sundays Winter Program

Northumberland Film Sundays has announced its Winter 2026 film program, with screenings scheduled from January through March. The season opens on January 11 with Sentimental Value, followed by Nouvelle Vague on January 25 and Urchin on February 8. The fourth film, screening on February 22, will be announced soon, with updates shared on the website and through the mailing list. The season wraps up on March 8 with DJ Ahmet.
