Make the most of the final long weekend of summer in Cobourg! From Friday night entertainment and Saturday morning traditions to a community festival and a Labour Day picnic, there’s plenty happening around town. Here’s what’s on from September 4–7.
For generations, Breakers on the Lake has been a special place to stay in Cobourg, tucked along the shores of Lake Ontario with its own sandy beach and beautiful views. But for one Michigan family, it has become so much more than a vacation spot — it’s where 65 summers of family memories and traditions have been made.
Cobourg’s shoreline is full of surprises — including tiny driftwood houses hidden along West Beach. Created by local artist Rod, these miniature pieces are part of The Little Houses of Cobourg, a growing project designed to spark curiosity and exploration. Keep an eye out during your next walk, snap a photo if you find one, and discover a small piece of creativity tucked into the waterfront.
After years on the road, Tom Hall made Cobourg home — and a chance meeting with Al Brisco led to the creation of Sweet Water. Now 24+ years strong, the band features world-class talent: Steve Piticco (Dolly Parton), Don Reed (Dwight Yoakam), Steve O’Connor (Blue Rodeo / The Jim Cuddy Band), Hall of Famer Dusty King Jr., and Grand Ole Opry performer Doug Johnson.
