Cross Country Skiing

Ski through the woods and experience the beauty of our snow frosted town. This activity is a unique and exciting way to stay active during winter months while also appreciating the beauty winter has to offer. Explore the peaceful snow-covered Northumberland Forest or the serene Coboourg Conservation area trails.

Check out the Northumberland Forest website to start exploring cross country skiing trails or visit the Cobourg Conservation Area to find a place to strap on your skis. 

Skating

Outdoor Skating

Enjoy skating outdoors on the Rotary Harbourfront Rink. Grab a hot chocolate from a downtown cafe, see Rotary Park lit up with Christmas lights, and skate until you can't feel your toes. The outdoor skating rink opens during the winter from 8am to 8pm (weather permitting). See the Town of Cobourg's Facebook page for updates on when the rink will open for the season.

• No hockey sticks or pucks allowed.
• Using the rink without ice skates is prohibited.
• All skaters must leave the rink during ice maintenance activities.
• Keep pets off the ice.
• No organized team sports (hockey) or games of tag are allowed.
• Please be considerate of noise levels and respect the right of all skaters.
• Absolutely no alcohol or smoking.
• CSA-approved ice helmets are recommended.
• Children under the age of 10 must be supervised.

Indoor Skating

The Cobourg Community Centre (CCC) offers many drop-in skate programs and public skate events. Check out the CCC website for more details, registration information, or drop-in times.

Snowshoeing

Looking for a unique way to enjoy winter? Try snowshoeing. Step into a movie-like winter scene and explore Cobourg's parks, trails, and surrounding forests while hearing the quiet crunch of snow underfoot. The crisp air and peaceful landscape views will truly make for an unforgettable winter adventure.
